LISTENING TO YOUR STORY RETREAT

FEBRUARY 16-18 | ONLINE

Our stories are rich landscapes, full of insight and meaning for us to uncover if we’re willing to explore them. The Listening to Your Story retreat provides the space and tools for you to begin reflecting on your life to this point, noting the most formative elements and how you’ve been shaped as a human. Through facilitated practices we’ll dive into our past with curiosity and care, discovering new and powerful insights along the way. We’ll hold space for one another, naming what we’re noticing and inviting others to share. And throughout the retreat, Mallory will draw on her training as a spiritual director and coach, offering questions and observations to aid in deeper reflection. Ultimately, each session will move towards a question that will guide us forward: what story do we want to be living?

FAQ:

Who is this retreat for? | This retreat is designed for anyone who wants to explore their story with curiosity and care.

What will the schedule look like? | During the sessions, we’ll gather together via Zoom and engage various practices and discussion. In between the sessions, Mallory will provide prompts for continued reflection.

Do I need to be anywhere specific for the sessions? | The only requirement is that you join the sessions from a space that offers both privacy (for you, and for your fellow attendees) and reliable internet connection. If you’re able to join from a space other than home or work, that is ideal, but it’s not essential.

What if I’m nervous about being in a group? | When held carefully and thoughtfully, a group experience can lead to powerful insights and transformation. Within the group, however, you will always be free to participate and share to whatever extent feels safe and comfortable for you.

Do I need to identify with a particular faith or tradition in order to attend? | Not at all. Mallory has been formed primarily within the Christian faith tradition, but her sense of spirituality is open, expansive, and generous. Her retreats presume a spiritual sensibility, but there is great freedom for attendees to engage/interpret the content and experiences in ways most fitting to their own perspectives.

Who is Dr. Mallory Wyckoff? | As a certified spiritual director and coach, Mallory draws on her varied areas of study and experience—theology, communications, sexual trauma, conflict management, etc.—to create customized retreats and workshops that invite folks to explore their sense of God and Self with curiosity, honesty, and courage. For 15 years she has facilitated individual and group experiences for various groups in numerous settings: workshops in a residential facility for sexual trauma survivors, spiritual formation retreats for doctoral students, undergraduate courses for incarcerated women, one-to-one spiritual direction sessions for individual clients, and more.
